What do you think about science?

I agree with mr. vampire, it’s good clinic. Karena ini private clinic, pelayanannya pun bagus, and people who work there are quite kind. Beda sama yg bukan private. Ternyata dimana-mana sama aja ya, there are gap different between private and public..haha.

Saya disuruh urine check up, but I don’t wanna pee. So I passed it. So, I didn’t prepare it. Lalu akhirnya saya melakukan blood check up. Hasilnya baru besok, jadi besok saya klinik lagi.
Saya sempat bicara dengan dokternya (dibantu ngomong juga dengan assisten prof di lab), dengan info yang saya berikan.. only fever, without any clue of symptoms.. dokternya tidak bisa menyimpulkan apa-apa. Ga tau sakit apa. Based on this result, everything is fine.” Jadi bukan cuma diagnose dari keluhan-keluhan pasien saja.

I know, being a doctor, it’s not an easy as you thought. They have to make diagnose just from what the patient says. Or the test result from a tiny part of the patient’s body. Sometimes, it’s not represent to what the body exactly happened. If they are a surgeon, they will consider what the surgery would be performed.

Beberapa waktu lalu, saya menonton Grey’s Anatomy dimana para pemeran sedang mengambil medical board test untuk mendapatkan license untuk benar-benar menjadi dokter. Mereka di-interview untuk men-diagnose penyakit apa yang diderita melalui chart pasien yang dibacakan examiner, lalu strategi medication apa yang akan diambil, dan kalo salah.. examiner akan bilang, “and your patient is dead..” ato “coma…” So, being a doctor is hard. Because they have to save a human life.

Dan kalau keluhannya seperti saya, cuma fever, without any serious pain, what would you expect? But, everybody’s know.. fever could be ‘there is something wrong on the body’. Of course, there are many clues to make diagnose. Meaning, the pain might be more severe. Contoh paling simple. I had gallstones. And the doctor just found accidentally by ultrasound. See, if the doctor could not find, probably I still have gallstone and the doctor will find out when I really have pain. You know, I didn’t have any pain at that time. But the doctor said after took out my gallbladder, my gallbladder was full of inflammation. It was a simple case. Any case and it is often, first stage of cancer. It’s hard to find the first stage of cancer. Many cases, cancer is undetectable.

So, being a doctor, it’s not make you to being a God. We are human, only human. We just know only a little thing of science. There are still huge part of science that we don’t know yet. So, we still need to study.. to search.. to invent another science part which is still blind, until the rest of our life. Because science is forever, I mean, it couldn’t be dead. It’s always be there, around us. So, no reason to quit study. Science is waiting us.
